Default Question about oil

I browsed through the forums and found some info on what other mustangs use, but nothin in the fox forums! I figure 10w30 is great for normal use, but I heard in the winter in areas where it drops below freezing at night or something during the day (like here in NY) to use 5w30? What do you guys run?

How does it flow better? Its the same weight. Synthetic just doesn't break down.

Default RE: Question about oil

i bought this car 2 weeks ago and the seller claimed the motor is rebuilt but u really can never tell so im staying away from synthetic till next year when i get a 351W.... ive got a question about my oil change though

first off, you dont need to take off both plugs do you? i only took off the one facing straight down. i have no idea what the previous owner used but i put in some 5w30, but when i first start the car it knocks like its starved or theres no pressure for like literally less than half a second, then its fine, drives fine, etc.... so im assuming 5w30 is too thin? is it so thin that the lubrication is insufficient, or is it too thick and doesnt provide the lubrication needed right away? i was considering trying out some 10w40 and seeing how my car likes it

Also one thing to note, after using 5w30 my starting oil pressure is higher than it had been previously with whatever oil the last owner put in
