FWIW, a 302 intake wont work on a 255.

Has anyone heard of someone improving a 255 in a way to get better performance? What options is there for a 255? Thank you.

Best thing to do with a 255 is use if for a boat anchor, when your done don't bother pulling it up just cut the rope and go home.

You could go real slow, LOL......
I don't know of any aftermarket support at all for the 255.
It's sort of a bastard/failure child.........

yeahi im pretty sure the 255s were only put in the mustangs in 80 but in trucks they were the original 302 motor

thank you...ol. it was just the mustang in 80-81 and 82 had both motors, that u have to worry about. i have one right now out of a 80 giah stang. if it was out of a t bird it would possibly be a 302, or a bronco or other various v8 cars and trucks. yes everything 302 bolts up! you can swap efi right up and for sure gain some ponies. but keep in mine its rated at 120hp stock with that 2barrell carb

yes ford made a 255 which sucked *****...... but ford was STILL MAKING 302's IN 1980!!!!!!

doesnt matter its a 302 block, i had 87 shorty headers on mine, highrise intake w/4barrell carb. wasnt too bad. see i didnt know it wasnt a 302 till i had already wrecked the car!!! so then i sold the bolt on stuff and it sits here in my yard to this day

yah we also got a 1980 302. says 80 in the valley and the XXX on top of the heads. we did have all the fuel injestion **** on it and it ran like ****, power was there some times just not consistent..........i dont think the XXX means roller because it says that on ours and its not a roller..
