crate motors
Which crate motor would you guys buy? I've been looking at buying an assembled 306 motor, not an expensive all out race or stroker motor, and trying to decide which brand to go with. DSS seems to have the cheapest motor but want to know what kind of experiences you have had buying crate motors.

RE: crate motors
Find a local shop to do the work. If there are no competant shops in your area (like my area) call CHP www.coasthigh.com
I went the DSS route. Had huge problems. Here are some pics of my engine and parts. These all had about 50 miles on them, 4 oil & filter changes.
Main bearing
Cam bearing
One of the oil filters

Yea me too, thats why i had to get some opinions, i was also looking at the gt40 crate motor, but if my block is salvagable i may get it bored and put in forged internals and a pair of nice heads.
