Cleveland swap??
I know that it is possile, has anyone here put a 351 Cleveland into a 90GT? I have a 90GT ragtop that needs a motor and I can get a great deal on a Cleveland right now. The car that I am going to put it in needs everything under the hood, car had a fire. So that means if I used that motor I wouldnt have to inject it and would not have to buy all the harness' and a new computer. Any input? Thanks.

RE: Cleveland swap??
friend of mine has a 351c in his 79 well did it blew up last mustang shoot out of last year it ran 11.20 on motor and 9.80 on nos. you will need headers and a oil pan the 5.0 motor mounts work and so will the trans but you will also need the 28oz bla. flex plate/ flywheel.other then that they fit just as easy as the other Ford small block.make sure you get the right headers due to 2V or 4V heads.

RE: Cleveland swap??
Hey man, no experience personally but i have a feeling since the Windsor and the Cleveland are pretty much the same size, the only difference being the C was hydraulic cam, had different valve setup with the option of 4v head and some other minor top end changes like pedastal mounts for the rockers, it will be a somewhat painless install. I'd give it a shot if I were you. The bellhousing bolts and motor mounts are the same as the 351W. good luck!

RE: Cleveland swap??
the cleveland is a small block with crazy amounts of torque!
ORIGINAL: AdderMk2
why a big block?
get either another 302 or a 351W.... MUCH easier to install for people with less mustang technical knowledge
(not an assumption... just stating a fact)

You'll be better off with a Windsor than a Cleveland. The Cleveland's are notorious for cooling problems. Also, I don't think the Windsor mounts will work. You may need Cleveland specific engined mounts. However, the Cleveland heads are amazing! If you get a good Cleveland intake (Windosr won't fit!), the heads flow a 2.02 and 1.60 stock.
