Alright two updates

1. Balancer is not loose, so its not that causing the power loss/vibration... although many people disagree (not here), I still say it's going to end up being some stupid sensor.

2. When I tried to read CEL, with key in ON position CEL is on, connect wire it goes off, nothing happens. I couldn't get it to ground while it wasnt in the ON position because the wires are all rusty and loose and the grey cap doesn't stay on, so I had to try to get my 13 year old brother to lend a hand(wasn't too successful). Don't know if it being grounded before you give it power makes a difference, if it does I'll try to get a friend over tomorrow, or rig something up to the ground on the battery.

Sounds like your balancer has spun. Its not going to feel loose. Its but together with a rubber coupling... If it spins, it will cause a vibration and you might not be able to see a timming mark.

If i bring the car to TDC and see it has indeed spun (balancer not at TDC), can i just mark on the balancer a new TDC or should I really just get a new balancer? I don't mind the labor at all, it's the money situation Haha

How do i make sure the car is really at TDC? Put a screw driver in cylinder #1 and watch piston rise?

just take off the #1 spark plug, then look down into the cylinder at the top of the piston. when you see the piston at the top and it just startig to go down. then its at TDC. thats the way ive always been tought to do it
