69 302 swap in 88 mustang?
Hello, I was wondering if anybody had some information for me on my car. I bought me a 1988 LX 5.0 HO for $200 and it had some valvetrain ping in it. So i tore the motor apart and realized that the front cam bearing was missing! And it wore the block down and now the block is now garbage. And i got me a 69 302 and the intake manifolds match up and they will fit, but will all the brackets for the power steering, alternator ect.. fit up to the 69 block? I have tried to find the specs on the net and i found nothing....can anyone help me????

Well if you want the full performance out of that motor you need to convert it to roller, Im not exactly sure how to do it but from what I hear its complicated. If you dont want to go that rought just throw a carb on that bad boy and bolt her in, need to run some fuel lines and trottle lines

I don't know about the bracket info but I can help you with the conversion to roller. I saw this when I was trying to figure out what cam I should get and I came across an article about it.

You dont need to go with a roller cam on that engine. Just get yourself a flat tappett cam for a 351 windsor and put it in.
Then you just use the 351/5.0L HO firing order.
The problem here is you will need to change the flexplate/flywheel and harmonic balancer as the older engine is 28oz and the the
late model is 50oz. Not a big deal though because they have those items everywhere.(157 tooth is what you need, not 164)
Also the older block is much stronger if your going with some decent power.
It will still work with the brackets as well.
The only thing i cant remember is the crank pulley, 3 or 4 bolt. if it's a 3 bolt you can call march performance in Westland, MI 48185
they can help you out.
