on an 88gt how exactly do you adjust or advance the timing?

loosening the bolt and the bottom of the distributor and turn it clock wise, advance it to 14 degrees

make sure you pull out the SPOUT connector before you adjust your timing, also remember to reinstall this connector after you adjust yoru timing

get a timing light mark the 0 and 14 on your balancer to see with the light pull the spout as said above loosen the dist..hook up the timing light start the car then point it at your balancer were the timing tab is<edited><editID>vfast</editID><editDate>38006.9342939815</editDate></edited>

pull the little chip on the end, start the car, loosen the hold down bolt and point your light. rotate the distributor from the BASE one way or another to get the timing you want.
