RE: cam question
what? sorry, im new here and just got my car. the 1st thing i did to it was the nitrous. I had it put in because i wanted it to go fast quick and wanted to get the expensive stuff out of the way. the guy only charged me $900 to do it and I only bought the car for $2800! I need to go talk to a professional about gettin my headers and cam in though. do you guys think that i could do it myself? how hard is it?

RE: cam question
this is too funny! ok:
1. no, a cam with a 218 duration will not fit in a 2.3 liter because the block is not the same, as in ALOT BIGGER...5.0. u dont have any of the same parts that u will find in a 302.
2. U need a header, not headers. 4cly. meaning there are four cylinders, not eight! on a "V8" is when u need a set of headers.
3. i really dont believe u ran a 12.8 in the 1/4. that motor simply couldnt handle a 150 shot of nos with all stock parts.
4. if u are serious, u got ripped off like a fool payin 3 grand for a 4 cyl. and $900 for NOS.

RE: cam question
ok man, this is how u do it:
first, u take all of ur spark plugs out.
then u drop the oil pan.
the cam fits in sideways, so u are also going to have to take the radiator out.
then u wedge the cam into the thermostat housing and the thermostat sits at the edge of the cam, at the end. then u put all of ur plugs in and take a 10 gauge wire and connect it to the end of the thermostat and run it all the way to the fuel pump. after that, u put the radiator back in. now dont forget to run 10W40 in the radiator. it lubricates and cools at the same time!
hope that helps u out man!

RE: cam question
well, i dont know much about mustangs, so it sounds alittle hard. u only had a 12.7 in the one quarter mile? what all do u have done? do you have a V4 too or is yours the V8?
my friend is gonna give me this chip that is sorta like a turbo! he says it'll give me a good 50 more hourse power. do u think that like jiffy lube would put my cam and headers on?

RE: cam question
yeah, jiffy lube will do it. look in ur local paper too and get some coupons. there just for cams too. now while ur there, dont forget about the 10w40 thing in the radiator that i was telling u about. that seems like a pretty nifty chip u got ahold of there! whats it called?
