^^^^ It doesnt really matter to me, not trying to be an a$$ but if you have a comment speak for yourself. Anyway, 3:55's are a decent gear to go with if you have a power adder but for the time being that you dont I would seriously consider a larger gear ratio (3:73's, 4:10's). I would actually go bigger even w/ a power adder. Just my .02

I wouldn't recommend 3.73's for a turbo application unless you are setting the car up specifically for track use, and have the supporting parts to help the car hook and launch. Most people I see recommending gears for turbo cars, have never driven one, or have any experience with a turbo car. If the car is going to be a street / strip car, you'll want to put in some 3.27's or 3.55's. I had 3.73's in my car when I made the switch from N/A to turbo. I can tell you from experience that the 3.73's we're a little too aggressive for street driving. I blew the tires off my car pretty much every time I hit the gas, even from 30mph rolls. The lesser gears will also keep more load on the turbo helping it to spool.

I also think that 4.10's are too steep for a 5.0. They're great in the later model high revving mod motors, but the good ol' 5.0 makes fairly healthy amounts of torque. And if you do plan on adding that large of a dose of "Throttle in a Bottle", the 4.10's are going to suck.

i have 4.10s a t-5, and 400 horse 351 plus a 100 shot of nitrous, i'm in the prosssce of turboing and all i got to say is even with out the nitrous i don't like the 4.10s there fun for burnouts and all but damn you can't hook that well. when i turbo i'm probaly going to put 3.08s but i'm planing for 500-550 horse at the wheels

my car will be driven every once in a while or just back and forth from work maybe about 2 mi. but it'll see lots of street racing. before i take it to the track i want to finish my suspension , need k-member and upper and lower control arms in the rear. I only have koni's, eibach springs and sub connectors.

Dirty sanchez, are you a ***** and cant handle such harsh acceleration from 4.10s or having to shift the car alot, so you need 3.55's or 3.27s for your weak ***...you will have traction problems whith high Hp cars, thats not my fault, if you have traction issues fix up your susp, control arms, spring, shock ect. If you have problems with traction the gear will make it worse thats a given.., that doesnt mean that ration of gear is bad. I had 3.55's in the stang with my mods, it ran 14.6 @95mph w/ 2.3 60ft then with 4.10's it ran 14.3 @96mph with 2.0 60ft times with 4.10's, It was a better ratio to go with for the fact it lowerd my 60 ft times 2 thenths and the et 3 tenths...On street tires, Imagine the gain If I had slicks on, shiz I would probally 14.0 or so, Right now with my other stang im putting 4.30's And these are my daily drivers, I see no freeway time, but city its a great gear, If you a highway driver and drive on the freeway I say 3.55's, I would never reccomend 3.27 thats just a waste, you mise well keep the stock 3.08's then, Youll basicly spend 400 bucks on gear and gain like a thenth or 2 then just keep stock gears, If you want to be a vigina that is.
I dont mean to be such a dick, but people are just straight viginas when it comes to gears. people whinning about gears, saying, it make my gas milage worse, or will I have to shift every 2 second with 4.10s or I drive on the freeway every once in a while and I think 3.27 are better than 4.10s'....I get tired of gear threads and people being stupid saying that 4.10s are too much for a 5.0. Grow up people, know your stuff

Yeah the gas mileage is the least of my concerns, I just want my $hit to be quick in the 1/4mi.

90Mustang fan.... So, tell me again what experiece you have with power adder vehicles and gear recommendation?

Obviously you should be considered an expert in the area, seeing as how you are setting the world on fire with your blistering 14.3@96mph (Which I hardly consider "harsh acceleration"). You should be careful, I'd hate for you to reverse the rotation of the Earth with such an impressive display of horsepower. Hell, slap those slicks on there... A 14.0 on sticky tires....that has to be close to an NMRA SSO record. The gear change was probably an improvement in your 155hp street machine. But for those of us in this discussion who have to worry about spinning tires at times other than when it snows, we need to put a little more thought into our choice of gear ratio.

And as far as all the name calling etc., I'll just chock that up to your immaturity. I'm sure I was driving fast cars while you were still sucking on your momma's tittie.

Holla back...
