AAAAAAAHHHH!!! TOOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!!

the sensor would not set off the engine check light. u have to run a diagnostics on it for the trouble codes.

there might be a spot of oil on the exhaust manifold that makes it smoke or something related to that. exhause leaks can be bad if its small it aint a big deal but still makes the car louder than norm and usually they have tape u can wrap around the manifold for a quick fix in parts stores, or weld it. and yes it is worth fixing.

8000??!?!?!? rpm?!?!?!? u mean 800 right? its just cold warm it up a lil and the exhaust leak can actually make it idle lower... i think.....

and oxygen sensors go bad not burn.

any other guys flame me if im wrong with these for these are just 2 min guesses. hope i help though.

btw answer the guy's question first bagitupbaby before putting up more. and just ignore the "funky smell" for now. cause theres a crap load of funky smells in an engine compartment.

no its not my spark wires i just put new ones in two days ago
All the more reason to double check and make sure one hasn't gotten too close to the header pipes. That's a recent change. Also, check the ends and make sure that they are pressed all the way on the plugs and the distributer cap. A spark jumping inside the rubber boots will tick also.

if there is an exhaust leak how bad is that? is it worth fixing it?
Yes it's worth fixing. If you leave an exhaust leak, it will errode the metal surfaces that it is passing through. These surfaces are usually the machined face of the heads and the header flanges.

oh yea my car idles at 1000rpm instead of 8000 like normal
That may or may not be related to the other things. If the burning smell is a vacuum hose melting, the resulting leak could cause this. It could also be an IAC problem, or a TPS set wrong, or several other things.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I assume you mean 800 rpm, cause if it's idling at 8000 rpm, it won't be for long.
