My new plan for the motor... tell me what you think.

I'm staying AOD and yeah, I'm going to go with the 3.73 gears. You're right, lately I've put some thought into this and I can save my self a lot of money by doing what I plan on doing and still make a nice amount of hp. I'm not really worried about bolt-ons anymore I'm wanting to see some decent gains now and I am realizing what it takes to get there. I'm going into the 'stang speed shop today in Denver to pick up the lifters and gaskets and maybe even some ball joints so I can get it all zipped up really quick.

I think your plan is one to fail.....first if the engine is running ok why not do some things to the transmission like a shift kit and stall with a big trans cooler..this can be done in a day and will make a great improvement.......as for your heads...I wouldn't even waste your hard earned cash in bigger valves and stuff on those heads..you can find really nice used aluminum heads aroung 5-600 and some will have been port match.....don't be afraid of some used parts to strech your money

Alright well I've already done the shift kit, I might do a stall soon and I was planning on a tranny cooler but I really have no need to do it without the stall, honestly I'd probably put in the tranny temp gauge before I was going to do the cooler, but I agree that the tranny cooler is a good idea. If you can find me a good set of aluminum heads for 500-600 bucks I'd be glad to pay that much for them, as long as they don't have that many miles on them and nothing is wrong with them. I know that my plan can work, may not go as planned but I shouldn't have gone into detail on what I was going to do with the stock heads, I'm looking to pay (what you said Vfast) around 500-600 bucks on the heads and about 300 on a cobra or a used intake. I'm just yackin and trying to clear up some things.
