Default Optimal Timing?

I have a few mods on my 1990 mustang and I'm looking for the best performance of out it I can get right now. I was wondering what does my timing need to be set to for normal performance and if I wanted to bump it up a little what it needs to be set to. Quick recommendations and comments please. I will be getting a local autoshop to tune it soon.

i would start at 14* and go from there.

the best way (other than a dyno) is to start about 12* and bump in 2* increments at the track...when your mph (don't pay attention to et) goes down...back it off to where it was highest.

absolutely....14* might be pushing w/ total stock. go 12* for sure though

w/ your plugs closed to about .040" (i spray so i close them anyways)

91+ octane and a msd...you can run 14* as long as it isn't really hot outside (like over 100* or 80 % humidity)

I run 14 all day...1-2 degrees isn't going to make a hell lot of change...

I run 16-17* on MAF cars and 18-19* on SD cars assuming all are N/A. This is on 93 octane. I spray 150 @ 10* and 200 @ 8*.

I'm running 16 on my car. I went to 18 but go detonation. You can feel a slight difference in power going from 10-16 though.

all cars are different so your car will react to different timing you will have to test drive your car at different settings and pick the best timing you like
