Default Head choice?

I am to the part in my motor build where heads are my next step.

I am building a high hp 331 NA motor to put into my 91 GT.

So far I have my block, waiting to get machined for the stroker kit, and I have a stroker kit on it's way to me. I have my intake manifold and plenum as well.

This car will not be street legal, therefore I am not limited to legal street parts. Anyway, I was just trying to get an idea what I should be taking into consideration as I buy the heads. I was trying to get an idea of what size chamber I should be looking at to maximize horespower, as well as lifters, rockers, and the rest. If at all possible I want to buy fully assembled heads.

Anyway, help is much appreciated.

Jon

There's many choices out there. Trick Flow, Edelbrock, AFR, RHS, GT40, etc..

AFR are cnc machined out of the box and have big valves too. Trick flows you can get cnc machined also. Depending on how much compression you want to make will depend on how big you want your combustion chamber size.

I was looking mostly at AFR's heads.

I'm staying NA so the motor will be looking at higher compression, but I'm not sure what.

Well, if you're looking for no street and higher compression. Go with the Non-emission AFR 185s with 58cc chambers AFR part #1388.

Personally, I would go with a set of the non emissions legal 185's. One of the best heads out there for a 331. You will make great power with those heads.

Afr's would be great choice..but the vic's might be a bit of overkill it really all depend's on what you want out of your combo.
