Default GRRRRR....freakin oil pan

I just got the parts for my rear end, took it to my buddies shop and when we got it on the lift I noticed a big time leak in the oil pan, so now I have to replace the gasket, this car is really turning out to be a money pit. Oh well, at least I got to it b4 It got to be a big problem(I lost less than half a quart of oil since last week when I checked it) Is there anything that could have caused this to happen so suddenly, or was it just that gaskets time to die?

i think in order to replace the pan you would have to pull the motor. i forget who said it but someone on here said that they lifted the engine up as far as they could and there was just enough room to fit their hand in there to replace the oil pump.

Well, when you replace it I suggest that you dont get a cheap gasket.

Apparently before 94 you couldnt drop the k-member to pull out the oil pan, at least according to the shop manual... Sometimes Im so happy that I didnt buy a fox....but then I accelerate. AND YES, DEFINATLY GET THE BLUE SILICONE 1 PIECE GASKET!! Its only like 28 bucks and the difference in quality is HUGE.
