I have a 92 5.0 engine block. Can I just put the carburetor on or do I need to do some modifications? Figured I'd go with a carb cause it's easier.

yeah carb is easier, but you get worse gas milage, and its harder to start in the winter.... i think you can just put the carb and intake on it, no mods needed but im probably wrong

You need to swap out the distributor as well to either and aftermarket, points style or duraspark 2 setup. You also need to adress the fuel situation. You need either a regulator or a new pick up for the tank.Other than that youre set.

And FYI a carbed setup will run and get just as good of mileage as an EFI as long as its tuned well.People who say things like they dont start well in the winter or get s**tty mileage either havent ran a carbed setup or are idiots that couldnt tune the easiest method of fuel delivery known to man!

so all I need is a different distributor and a fuel pressure regulator and it'll work? That's a relief because parts are harder to find for the 85 engine blocks.

Just found this, says not to run pressure regulator before the carb with a fuel pump. Here's a link

good god. Don't try running a 40+ psi pump through a 4-8psi regulator. Sure way to burn something out (pump)

if you want a carb cool, but honestly what are you goals with the car. if its going ot be your DD. dont switch if you only are going to be runing at the track once in a while and shooting for 13s. that can be had for no motor mods or ecm tuning. just car has to be setup correctly.

but if carb is your way, more power to you. and have fun with you setup.dont forget when you switch to carb your emissions is now out the door.
