I got my first car when I was a senior in hs. I still have it and got her for $4,200 with 84k mi. She's well over 100k and the 5.0 still runs great. I would suggest buying a cheap 5.0 and then pay for college.

id get a nice hatch that looked really sharp and ran even better than it looked and make sure it has been taken car of and everything checks out. then id put a really nice system in it and maybe a few bolt ons but deffintly a system.

What to do with $10k? Fly to Las Vegas, visit Bunny Ranch, put the half of your remaining $8k on the blackjack table and DOUBLE DOWN! Or just put the remaining $8k on black and SPIN THAT WHEEL!

OMG is everyone here old or what? spend it on school, go to vegas, pay rent, if i were your age id blow it on booze...he wanted to know what car to get, not what youd do if you had the money! Im 20 so i still think like this guy. foxes are good but i checked ebay putting in your zip code, this is what car id suggest, 94s have the 5.0L, This car is clean, has 76,000 miles, almost a full black interior swap, its so close you shouldnt have any problem getting it, plus youll have a bunch leftover to mod it however you want and make it your own. heres the link:

Well what do you want to do with the car? Do you wanna build it up and haul a$$? Or do you just want something that has a good amount of power to just cruise around? If you want to go fast and have serious horsepower I would advise steer clear of convertibles. Too heavy and chassis flex. But I would say that if this is gonna be a car just that looks good and has a good amount of power that you can show off here and there but not really race on a normal basis go with the Vert. Verts look nice and are sweet cruising rides.

Honestly, I dont know if anyone else here made the same mistake as me but I baught my car for 2,400 and than dumped like 6 grand into it but I had no clue what I was doing and it was basically a waste of money and Ive already spend another couple G's on trying to fix the problems that I made for myself. With 10 grand, I would buy a good condition fox for 6-7k and most likely it will have some nice mods already done to it and than just go from there (gears, exhaust, pulleys, u/l manifold, trans, etc.). ALSO, NO BACKYARD MECHANICS!!! Do it yourself or take it to someone professional.
