i'm back!! anyways, i've just bought a 1996 explorer V8 2wd, i know the 5.0 in it is a roller cam engine but i am not positive it is a HO or not, i need to know so i can upgrade the cam and distibutor. also, i think the heads are special somehow, correct me if i'm wrong, but they are GT-40/P heads, what does this mean? again, correct me if i'm wrong, i think the GT-40 heads were used on either the 1993-1995 Cobras or the 1993 Cobra-R, but i belive the Cobra-R had aluminum heads. The transmission, the A4LD, is a Ford AOD type tranny, i am wanting to know what the ratios are up to 4th because i know 4th is 1:1. And, sorry to waste your time, the 8.8" rear-end is a limited-slip-equipped diff. i want to know what the available gearing was, but i may just swap it out for a good 3.73:1 or 3.27, it is 54" from end to end, which is the same as the 1967 Mustang/Cougar, the cougar is what all of this is going into. any help would be appreciated...peace!
