Hitting the rev limiter

RE: Hitting the rev limiter
no it shouldnt do anything bad. Unless you do it a couple times a day and leave it hitting the rev limiter for a while. When I do donuts and burnout I hit rev limiter. Dont worry you should be ok.

RE: Hitting the rev limiter
Redline in my fox WAS 6150rpms
When you hit it it cuts FUEL, giving you a lean condition and will prevent the engine to spin any higher.
Lean is never good.
You can get a chip burned to raise the stock rev limiter if you feel it necessary, but I now count on my ignition box to limit my revs.
Which is now around 6700rpms

RE: Hitting the rev limiter
it's ok to bump it once in a while.
whats bad is you can float a valve, and if it hangs open , you'll break it.
or if you hit it on nitrous (which i did once) it can be very bad...i got lucky though.
