Is it illegal to switch a airbag to a tilt steering wheel?
I just read this in one of the post. This is a first to me. Does anyone know more about this? Like if it is nationwide or per state? I switched my 91 over to tilt here in Texas and have been pulled over many time and never heard a word about it. Tell us what you know.

No, it's not a law that you have to have airbags (at least in florida) if your car came with them. They're only put there for car manufacturers to meet safety standards.
Plus how many cops are really going to know the difference between an '89 and a '90 or '91 Mustang. AND notice that you have a different steering wheel, and that that wheel doesn't have an airbag.
That would be one dick cop. Plus wouldn't aftermarket steering wheel makers have to put a disclaimer on their products?
In Florida, if your car didn't come with seatbelts... (before 1969ish) you don't have to install them.

If it is a law your right, how many cops are going to know the difference? Ive never seen anyone get a ticket for an aftermarket steering wheel either.

All 1963 and later cars sold in the U.S.A. had belts in them. If your state has any inspection, you better have them there.
BTW, my '59 Ford Ranchero had belts in it from the factory, a $6 dollar option...

I know that there are like a delete airbag replacement that looks like an airbag. In South Carolina (i've heard) you have to put a warning label in the car if it had airbags to be insured.
