Why rev past 5500? When you have a V8 the best rev is below 3000 in my opinion. Just a short grunt makes up for the high pitched whine the 4/6 cyl make.

Just ealier I read that you broke your ebrake...now your tach? Just hard on your car or a series of bad luck?

Make sure your tach is not just fooling you and saying a higher RPM than reality. Also check your distribution and check to see if that is broken or shifted at all. Next reset your car's computer by disconnecting the batt for about 15 mins.

If none of this check out as non-normal then you did break something. The rev limiter on a stang is 6250 i believe.....

Hopefully you didn't bend a pushrod.....

I got a problem also. Whenever I release the clutch I hear this sound coming from under the car as if it were a rubbing of metal. When I have the clutch pedal down and rev the engine it speeds up. Is that the clutch or the pressure plate? And wth can I do about it?

You guys are aware that free reving your engine to high rpms is very bad for right?
