Cleaning The Enging Bay
Hello guys, Im about to clean my engine bay with some 3m foaming degreaser stuff and need to know from those of you who have done this before, what parts I need to cover with plastic and what not to spray etc, and how to get the best results. Thx!

you definately need to cover the distributor and fuse box. maybe someone else knows if anything else needs to be covered
edit: you might want to cover the air filter if yours isnt in the fender, not sure if its necessary but i would do it anyway

Wow what a question. My job is detailing cars so maybe this would help. First, start off by spraying the entire bay with degreaser. Let that set for a minute. Use a pressure washer to spray it off reeeeal good. U mainly want to avoid the alternator and distributor. U could use plastic bags to cover these if u want to be even more cautious. Also just be careful around any electric components and it should turn out great. U can spray the battery too cuz it wont harm it, just watch ur eyes for acid. Afterwards if u have an air compressor u wanna blow air on everything and get as much water as u can out of there. Then use some type of agent for plastic shine or something and spray that on all the plastic and black stuff and wipe it down. It should look brand spankin new or close to it when ur done.
