Default Lowering by cutting springs?

I have a 89 GT Convertible and want to lower it. New springs will lower it about 1.5". I'm pondering cutting the springs. Who has done it and what kind of results did you get (amount cut:amount lowered)?

Thanks

You dont need to cut the springs, If you want to do it the cheap way they sell a 10 Dollor lowering kit that just compresses your springs to give you a inch drop.

you got more options than cutting your springs....you can get that lowering spring compressing kit...or you can find other springs out there that will lower your ride more than 1.5 inches....you will be much happier if you go another route than cutting your springs....

Cutting your springs is a bad idea, the heat from cutting (even if you use a cutoff wheel) can be bad for them and the spring rate changes are not predictable. Ever see a lowered Honda bouncing down the road? Thats what happens when you cut springs.

Ghetto bro. Don't cut. Plus the chance of you getting the lengths exactly right isn't even close. Plus what JD said about it changing the spring rates. If one heats up more than another one than your car is gonna sit and ride all funny.

Enough said, I'll buy springs. I don't want it any lower than 1.5". When I'm done messing with it, it will be my weekend drive. Thanks for the advice. Got any advice on spring kits?
