I did 3.73 limited slip locker... With my auto. The only downfall is I burnt the overdrive out of my AOD...

Yes, a gear swap is VERY worth doing.
One of the cheapest bang for the bucks

Yes a gear swap is usually one of the first mods done to a 5.0 when we get our hands on them. Think of it this way:

Two people running track. One of which is 7 Ft. (2.73's) tall and the other is 5'5"(3.73's).. The 5'5" guy will start out quicker than the guy with longer legs, but must work harder to keep pace (higher RPM's), whereas the guy with long legs starts off slower, but can maintain a higher speed with less effort(lower RPM's).

Great way to put it. I donno if I had to go with a gear swap I wouldnt do 3.73s again. I would just do 3.55s because I like to keep my car out of the gas pumps every 3 days hehe. See the thing is, I only had 1,2,3 no overdrive because the overdrive just stop working one day. Then I sold it haha.

Well thats why gas was killing you. NO OD = BAD. But anyway, I personally wouldnt go with anything under 4.10's. I have a couple friends with 4.10's in their auto's and they are great and I know people with 3.73's in 5spds and I dont think its enough. I would go with 4.10's regardless. Just my .02.

You can call Summit and have them price match it and give free shipping.
Summit price matches? Is this all the time or just on occasion?

I was also suggested 4.10 gears on my speed. And mine is bone stock. Is this the way to go for a first upgrade?

does this swap make the gas mileage significantly worse?

Your not going to be like omg I cant drive anymore Im getting a Huffy... but yes you will see a drop in your gasmileage. But from 3.73's to 4.10's its barely nothing and its soooo worth it.
