NO, YOU WANT TO BE OVER PEAK SO WHEN YOU SHIFT AND LOSE RPMS, YOU ARE STILL AT THE TOP OF YOUR CURVE. KEEP SHIFTIN CLOSE TO 6K SO WHEN YOU FALL AND THE DRIVETRAIN IS ENGAGED, YOUR HOLDIN38-4200.. MY OPINION

you power lose power after 4800rpms. shifting to high is going to hurt your performance on a stock motor. cause you could be making more power in a different gear

but your rpms carry over to the next gear and if you shift too early then you have no power in the next gear. so you have to find the right tradeoff. </P>

one a good stick driver doesnt lose to many rpms. if you shift at 5200 when you hit second gear youll bearound
4000 which is around the power band.shifting higher you lose to much time.

on that stock engine 52-5300 at the most...sifting at 6k will result in a slow time and a hurt engine or valve float... be more concerned with a good launch and fast shifts it's all about being consistent
