is the temp gauge you got mechanical as well or is it electric? If its mechanical then it uses a probe sensor on the end of an ether filled copper capillary tube, and you will need to find a location that will accept a probe into the coolant jacket. On SBCs its on the drivers side cylinder head, but im not sure where you could find it on a 5.0 because i havent done my gauges yet. If its electric just splice into the stock temp sending unit.

The Temp Gauge On The 5.0 Is On The Black Pipe From The Front Of The Lower manifold To The Back The Sensor Is On Top Of The Front Of The Pipe. It Has Wires Running To It. It Is The Same Pipe That Has The hose Running To the EGR Spacer.

So its off the heater tube? Is there anywhere else I can put the probe to? Would be nice to be able to run both gauges.
