how much would a 302 have to be bored out to make it a 347? WILL THE CYLINDER WALLS BE TO THIN FOR A DAILY DRIVER.

you dont bore it to make it a 347 you buy a stroker kit, i think the most safely you can bore a block is 60 over which makes it a 310

ok well 60 over is to much for a daily driver. to get a 347 with a stroker kit you need to over bore it 40. 60 is way too much for a 302 because its getting to close to the coolant and water passages within the block. And if you chose not to over bore it like me, you only lose 5 cid. So its up to you if you want to pay the money to to get it bored when you can have a 342 or a 347. Doesnt make much of a difference.

a 347 is a stroker so all you need is a bigger crank and shorter rods. no boring of the block is needed.</P>

std bore will make a 342 , and if your stroking it why would you not finish the bores ?

dont forget that with a 347 you need to clearence the block for the crank. and a 347 puts alot of stress on the stock block. also not the greatest motor for DD

i agree.....plus it kills the life expectancy of the motor...go with a 331.</P>

you will definately want an aftermarket block if you want the 347, the 331 would be nice.
