PUTTING A CAM IN A MOTOR WITH STOCK E7'S IS DUMB AND A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.
I have to disagree with this statement. I have a hard time believing I got could have got my full weight AOD LX hatch to run 11.8 with the stock cam. My E7s had the exhaust bump removed, but they still had stock valves and were not shaved. I am also very confident my new GT will run 11s with stock E7s, but it won't be with a stock cam. There are gains to be had if you know where to look.

yes and it will give you a little bit of a rough idle, but you are going to want better heads to get the most out of that cam. that is a hyd cam right?

It was a nitrous car. Still hard to believe? It went 13.4 N/A, 11.87 @ 115.8 on a 150 shot and 11.65 @ 115.8 on the brakes a few hundred feet before the finish line on a 200 shot. I don't like posting the 200 shot time because there is always an excuse attached or people may think it was a 14.0 car N/A. The cam specs were .513/.513 (.545/.545 the way it was ran w/ 1.7s) 218/224 114. I don't think the stock cam would have allowed me to drop 1.6 seconds on a 150 shot, nor do I believe I could have gotten a full weight AOD LX hatch go even 13.4 N/A with all the accessories. If it were lightened, sure... I've seen even better. But I did have a stock shortblock with stock valve E7s and very mild home porting in the runner. I just disagree with the statement that stock E7s can't benefit from a cam. I don't have a scanner to post time slips anyway.

well when you first stated that you ran 11.8 you said nothing about nitrous, so next time you want to brag about how fast you ran you need to give the list of parts that you have done to the car, because what i got out of what you said is you took a full weight lx AOD stock heads with the bump removed and a cam made that thing go to 11.8
