all the gas your car is getting is from the bottom of the tank, that is why they make fuel filters.

dont let it go below a 1/4 tank when its below freezing. that is just about any car. it can lead to fuel freezing or moisture in tank which will freeze

There shouldnt be anything in your tank but gas.I changed the fuel pump out in favor of a manual pick up and my tank had a coating inside. They dont rust or corrode i belive most or all of them are coated for this purpose. You just need to make sure that if for some reason you open up the tank or change the fuel pump you get a new filter.I put a filter on the pickup,a filter in the stock location next to the tank, and one on the motor.Even if i had corrosion i think it would get caught in one of three filters.

You have nothing to fear by letting it go down low except for walking.

If the car sits for a long time keep it full or the tank will rust. you see it on motorcycles all the time after sitting empty all winter.
