GT and SVT Cobra

At the crankshaft, a stock 97 GT is rated at 215 HP and a stock 97 cobra is rated at 305. So basically the cobra is more powerful than a GT.

Um, the 99 GT/Cobra is the New Edge body style and the 94-98 stang is the sn95 version. They look pretty different (personally i prefer the SN) but check them both out.

After 96, the 5.0 was taken out of the GT and cobra and a 4.6 was put in place of it.

And the 99 GT stock puts out 260 at the crank (I think that's right) and the stock cobra puts out 320 HP. So the 99+ is more powerful than 94-98.

the 97 cobra engine is better than the 96 because 96 was the first year with the 4.6 so I'd go with a 97 over a 96 cobra.

Get a 99 cobra if you can afford it or find one, that would kick @$$!

good luck with your search hope this helps

The 99 cobra also had problems producing the rated power out put and many of them was on recall from the factory..Plus they have better brakes also..But i would prefer the 94-95 cobras...Or the best one of them all the 93 cobra.

i like the 94 and up body styles. so the 99 just had problems producing power? what was being recalled? im saving up money so i can make a down payment and then pay off the loan monthly. so money isnt too much of a problem. im hoping to buy this car and keep it for a very long time. any other info or sites you guys know where i can read up?

haha i know, but i think that one has to be my favorite. The 93 R is pretty nice but i don't like the black rims on it and the '04 Cobra is pretty sweet, no a big fan of the '05 though.

i'd go for a '97 or '98 cobra, 4 valve heads, 305 hp
