Default what combo?

i have finally saved up enough money to do some major work on my stang.

since the rings are pretty much gone.... im rebuilding the motor with forged pistons (rebuild kit from summit) and bore the block .030 over

i can purchuse a block out of a 92 stang for 50$, i was thinking that would be a good idea since they are forged and not hyperpiestonic (sp?) like the 93's were

i also want to put a set of afr 165 heads....along with a E303 cam (Duration at .050: 220, intake 220 exaust)(lift .498" intake, .498" exaust)

i am wondering if all these parts will work well together? and any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated since i am a 17 year old and do not have as much expierence as many of the users on here.

i am most likely going to stick with the stock intake for now until i get enough for a new one.

If buying new, look at a TFS Stage 1 cam for roughly the same price as an E cam. You could also consider saving money by getting some TFS Twisted Wedge heads and putting the saving towards an intake. The AFRs are great though. Just replace that stock intake VERY soon.

Do you by chance know how much the TFS twisted wedge heads are?

do they flow/ perform as well as the afr's?

Check Summit Racing. They own Trick Flow so no one will beat their prices. I believe the TFS TW heads fall somewhere between the AFR 165s and 185s in terms of flow OTB. They have a ton of room to grow though. I have a set on my 600rwhp pump gas car and they are not maxed out at all.

emissions are a concern now....but by the time i will have to do emmisions again they will most likely be gone. so i think im going to stick with the E cam.

looking at both the afr and TFS heads they look fairly similar. The TFS heads have a slightly larger intake valve. But over all the FTS heads are 100-200$ cheaper. So i prob will go with the TFS heads.

the rebuild kit that im looking at says that the compression ratio will aproximatly be 10.13 to 1 with a 58.2 cc head. Since the TFS heads have a 61cc combustion chamber that will lower the compression ratio? correct?
