ok, first of all, I'd like to introduce myself here, my name is matt and I bought my first mustang yesterday. It's a 86 GT rolling chas. with exhaust and 3.73 gears, but no engine/trany/ecu. Here comes my delima, I'm trying to decide what year to buy; I know that the 88-91 302's had forged pistons and what not, but did the older ones? I'm basically looking for a really good motor to start with for cheap. my plan is to make the car turn mid 11's for about 5k so I need to find a used engine that has good internals. I am planning on going with a T5 trany, what does everyone think about them? are there any big problems with them being able to make 400-600HP?
