Hey What is the difference between HO and Non HO, I know the firing order is different so i assume the crank or cam must be different.

Thank you Marx for clearing that up.
So I was right about the differences, except the source I had just found about the hp ratings was off.

VERY VERY HORRIBLE INFORMATION.

The chart that was posted was from coolcats.net, that refers to the 83-88 Thunderbirds and cougars, in which you couldnt get an HO 5.0 if you wanted to. In 89, a completely new platform was created for the thunderbird and cougar, called the mn12. In 89-90, all you could get was the 3.8L, and the 3.8L SC, but in 91, the 5.0 was reintroduced. This 5.0 was indeed an HO, but it had cast exhaust manifolds and really ****ty flowing exhaust.

It was rated at 200/275 because of the exhaust mostly. If you do anything to the 5.0 in your car, start with exhaust, i beleive MAC sells some headers for your car, but the rest of the exhaust will have to be mostly custom. You can buy a catback for the car, but everything from the headers to the catback would have to be made. You cannot get an h-pipe unless you know a very good exhaust shop because the clearance for exhaust is very tight. It goes from the manifolds to a y-pipe, then single exhaust down to another y-pipe and out two mufflers.

As for other mods, you can use the SN95 cobra intake manifold, but you need to trim your hood reinforcements.

Go to TCCOA.com for more correct info.
