D I Y ?
Hey, I've been tempted to try it myself, I know buddies that have put them in without any tools and had no problem, I know some guys that put them in and absolutely wear the gear out within a few hundred miles because they are set up so bad. I think if you mark the pattern and follow instructions for pattern set up you should be ok. Some guys use the gauges for set up to measure backlash and set up some don't. One of these days I'll try it and find out for myself! lol

fun? haha, you've got a strange perception of fun . it's neat and all, but it's just a bunch of little measurements to get it right. dial indicator is STRONGLY recommended.

250 pound air gun??? torque bar would work and maybe a cheater bar... but if yur talking about tightning them you dnt want to tighten them down to hard otherwise they'll wear out so quick that it woulda been pointless putting them in

START TO FINISH IT TOOK ME ABOUT 1.5 HRS....THAT IS WITHOUT A HOIST...LAYIN IN THE DIRT...GRR...NOT TO TUFF TO DO.....JUST MAKE SURE YOU SET THEM UP RIGHT,...THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT....I NEVER USE A DIAL INDICATOR...ONCE YOU HAVE DONE IT ENOUGH YOU GET THE FEEL OF IT AND DONT NEED TO MEASURE...

I highly advise against going based upon "FEEL".A friend did this same thing in his ranger and it went boom! Its not that much to have someone who knowes how to do it do it for you.Im all for the learning experience but this isnt a forgiving area and one screw up and youre done.
