Default gt-40 Y303 heads?

hey guys im 17 and on a tight budget with my stang. i want some heads really bad i can the gt40 y303's for like 1000 bucks. these heads any good? i was gunna match it with a e303 cam and i already have a cobra intake. would it be better to save up some money to get the gt40x heads or sum afr's. help would be great. thanks

I think the Y's is better than the x's but not sure.

I thought the X's were the better heads... For $1000 you can get some Trickflow Twisted Wedge's. You can find them used for even less.

X & Y....both have 1.94 intake/1.54 exhaust valves

X heads have 178cc intake ports, 62cc exhaust
Y heads have 160cc intake ports, 53cc exhaust
TW heads are 170cc intake ports, 66cc exhaust

TW's also have 2.02 intake/1.60 exhaust valves, and you can find them for around $1100 give or take....

I wouldn't fool with them. I would get the Trick-Flows or Eddy's first.
If you are going to get the Ford Heads and you are on the dtreet all the time, take the ones with the largest chamber as small chambers/high compression is not what you are looking for....
