replacing ps pump...

the new pump came w/o the pulley, can i rent a puller from like autozone and re-use my old pulley. i have also heard something about a bracket? this pump came with a bolt, square nut, washer, and a new O ring. what from the old pump will I have to re-use? sorry, my last car was a 240sx, so this is a brave new world for me.

Take it to a repair shop that has a press. More than likely they will do it for a few buck.

A puller is not how you remove that pulley. The pulley is very flimsy and you will bend it. There is a special tool that hooks on the center of the pulley and you crank it down to pull it off. It pulls at the center so it doesn't bend. Then there is another special tool used to crank it down. If you take it to a ford dealer they should do it for $20 or if you know a snap on tool guy, he can get you the tools for $100 and you can do it as many times as needed.

I had 3 guys trying to get mine off and it took about 2 hours. We ended up bending the pulley anyway but I straighned it in a vice. I dont know how well that worked but its on lol.

I had to heat mine with a torch and then use a puller on the center partof the pulley.
they are a pain to do.
