Transmission lube or fluid??

RE: Transmission lube or fluid??
Exactly, this is a very simple operation. I just did mine a little more than a week ago. You dont have to use dexron II either, you can use virtually any ATF fluid you want, but i would recommend a fully synthetic type like Royal Purple's Max ATF or Lucas' Sure shift semi synthetic. There are a pair of plugs on the passengers side that accept a 3/8" ratchet, (one for drain and one for fill obviously). Dont torque the **** out of the plugs when you reinstall them though because i've seen them strip easy. I have an ATF transfusion pump at my shop and it took me all of about 10 minutes to do this, but if you dont have a pump, then it will be necessary to remove the shifter to refill the tranny. It will accept 5.5 pints of fluid.

or just use the fill plug on the passenger side above the drain plug.
you need some kind of pump though.
