RE: need engine firing order
i wouldnt be suprised if the msd ignition box is the problem,
i've seen more than one of those go belly up outta nowhere,
have you tried bypassing the msd and plugging your stock ignition back up?

think your right i compleatly disconnected the MSD unit from the car set it on my truck hood low and behold the coil now has a spark. car wont start it wants to back fire through the carb is this because it needs the msd multiple spark discharge unit to run properly because the coil dosent provide hot enough spark alone ??. when i changed out the valve cover gaskets the previous owner had 2 gaskets per cover, so the short corbra covers would barely clear the crane cam roller rocker arms. we got nice polished tall alum covers now, acording the the guy who helped build the car 10 yr ago the engine was a BA engine. then the lady who bought it and we got it from her husband took off the 4bbl ripped out the wiring for the switch to advance/retard the timing, stuck a restrictor plate on it and a 2 bbl arghhhhhhh talk about a brainiac lmao. all i wanted to do was put her back on the 4bbl and give new tune up, my oldest son 26 dosent know anything about cars. so i thought i would walk him through the process of a compleate tuneup something ive done on my cars for almost 30yr . ive never had MSD products so this is new ground for me i'll get this MSD unit tested at my local speed shop and replace if need be
