331/347 stroker
ok i have some money to put into my 95 i was thinking of exhaust then i realized i could spend just a little more money and have my motor bored to 331 or 347 and drop in one of the kits from probe industries, i was wondering what will i need to change/look out for when considering this swap, transmission drive shaft, what do i need to do.

ok well your trans will need to be upgraded with the extra power unless you baby it. nothing will need to be done with the drive shaft, now do not bore the motor anymore than you have to, that way you can rebuild it again. so your looking at a 327 with stock bore, with the 331 kit, and a 342 with the 347 kit.

The block will need machine work for rod clearance no matter what. If you go with a 347, make sure you get a 5.315" rod kit and not a 5.4" rod kit. The tranny will work but T5s are notorious for being weak.

ok well i need a new trans anyways, cuz i ****ed the one i have now up, it doesnt like 2nd gear anymore so i think a got a bad synchro, but i have a t-5 motorsports tranny out of my fox, so ill see if it can hold up, thanks for the info doesnt seem like ill need to spend too much money on extras wich i didnt want do so i might be going with the 331

So your going to have a 331 w/ stock heads? Pretty much pointless. Your heads are one of your most restrictive areas on your motor and theres really no point of stroking it w/ stock heads. Save up some extra money and go aftermarket.
