that button causes the seatbelts to retract when the door is opened, otherwise the seatbelt would have tension on it all the time while driving instead of locking in a looser (but safe) position. so if the seatbelt is not equipped with the mechanism to make that button function then it won't.

FYI they have good and bad qualities, one is the obvious, it doesn't pull on you all the time, the other is, i found myself constantly pulling on belt to get it tight, after i adjust radio, or go into glove box.

Thats what i have to do. I am constantly pulling it to get it to retract, if i move, or adjust the radio, etc. it won't retract on its own. OR it rarely does. Prime is right about that button issue cause like matt said, when I open my door, the belt will retract. So is there something wrong with my belts? or is that just some very big issue these cars had.

mine didnt retract so well either, so i went to the junkyard and picked some more up, all you can do... for now they work well but who knows how long they will last
