tremec identification?
 

hello, i just picked up a 91lx with heads cam intake bla bla, but it has a tremec trans in it. the kid i bought it from said he didnt know which trans it was, and guessed a 600, the guy he bought it from put it in. is there any way i can distinguish which trans it is from the outside? or where there is a part number on this thing so i can call or something?

if you know its a TKO, the 500 has a 3.27 first gear ratio, while the TKO 600 has a 2.87. just collect some data when your driving in 1st gear and note your speed and RPMs, then go here http://www.supermotors.org/resources...hp#finding_rpm and plug it in along with your tire specs, and rear end ratio and you should be able to tell. hope that helps
