Default Cleaning MAF wrong

a buddy of mine just cleaned his maf with wd40 and a qtip did he just ruin the little needles on the maf and have to get a new one ? lol

wd-40 is not a solvent it is oil based therefore it will stick to the mass air meter and not eveaporate like carb or electric cleaner. get the right stuff and do it again.

i personally dont use anything to clean the maf as far as cleaners would go in fear of damaging it be very careful not to harm the little sensor tips best to get like a corner of biss card tear it of a very lightly wipe the debris off the no pressure is needed it usually wipes of very easy as far as the housing goes take the sensor portion out and clean with what ever you desire but take it apart first but dont force anything apart or back together

try some commas, maybe some periods in your post too. It's hard to follow you...

wd 40??? like philthy said reclean it with carb cleaner.... most of the time the hot wire get gunked up from people over oiling their k&n filter
