someone help my stang is messed up help please!
 

hi everyone.ok i own a 91 lx 5.0 and the other day i started the car let it warm up i shut the car off and then tried to start it back up and it wont start.you know when you turn the key to the on position the fuel pump runs for a second then shuts off. now it wont shut off "unless you turn off the key" and the car wont start it just cranks over.i put starting fluid in the tb and it will start to fire up.i replaced the module on the distribtor,ignition switch,fuel pump relay and still nothing. do you think its the computer or what im lost here. i checked the wiring and it seems to be good. anyone else have this problem?help someone please!![:o]

Yeah it sounds like your flooding out the engine. Same thing happened to me when I put the bigger fuel pump, injectors, and afpr.

yes the fuel pressure is at 39psi i dont think the fuel is getting past the fuel inectors because when you put starting fluid in it the engine starts to kick over they are new stock 19lbs injectors i can hear the fuel going through the pressure regulator and fuel rails.i cant figure out why the fuel pump is staying on while the car is not running and key in run position

i would check the relay, it is located under teh drivers seat. check to see if any of the wires are grounding out or maybe the relay itself is defective. if you open the butterfly in the tb with the car off do you smell gas?

yes i checked tthe wirs none of the is grouding out i have i orignal relay and i bought 2 new ones and it still does the same thing the tb doesnt smell like gas im thinking the computer is bad but i have no idea

i would check the resistance on the wires that go to your injectors and see if that is ok. there is a relay located beside your computer (pass kickpanel) pull the cover off and check if the relay is clicking, there is also a ground there bolted to the rocker panel just above the floor pull up the carpet and see if that is ok.

fuel injector wires seem to check out fine the relay next to the computer clicks so that should be fine ground for the computer is fine .i dont know im going to replace the computer later today and hope it runs again.i thank every one for their help after i replace the computer i wiil let you know if it works

i found the problem it was the computer put my new one in and she runs fine thanks everyone for their help:D
