I installed my shift kit when I was 15 in about 1 1/2 hrs. It's not hard, just follow the directions in the video and it will work. Save your self that money for the install.

The price for 4.10s IS worth it....regardless of whether or not you get a shift kit...I would just LOVE the feel of a shift kit...I just gotta get it put in But if your thinkin 'bout 4.10s...GET THEM...you'll love the feel of them...as long as you don't drive on the highway too much...

OK I had 92 with 3:73 and i had the same problem but come to find out when your driving start in first then go into drive and bring it right back down into first. That will be second but you come to a stop make sure you are in drive or it goes right back into first. Its a shock the first time or just buy a ratchet shifter.
call your local tranny rebuilder and see if you can get on a long term payment plan.

doing the AOD shuffle, will destroy your trans.

when you pull back , the trans does not allow the car to DS, but the intermediate clutches will re-engage. when they should not be engaged.

it's a matter of time b4 it goes...not if...just when

i would not recommend doing that at all.

unless you like to spend $2000 / pop rebuilding an aod
