Widest Tire

what the widest tire i can fit on my 88 GT w/o modifacations on a 17x9 rim on the rear and what a good size tire for the front, thanks in advance

I was wondering the same thing. I just picked up a set of ASF cobra R wheels with essenza R 255 40R17's on all four.
Is there going to be a rubbing issue up front?

well im lookin at buyin 10 aniverisery cobra rims the charcoal ones i found a good price at 50resto.com

I've got the 16x7 pony's and I'm running 265/55R16's all the way around w/ no issues.

well this question is pretty much answered, but tirerack.com will tell you biggest tire and rim you can use on any stock application
