Default Vibration Between 2500-3500

I have a 1988 gt and at around 2500-3500 rpm's there is a vibration. It smooths out at about 4500 and up. It is not too bad, but it is enough to shake some interior plastic pieces. I was wondering if this could cause some severe engine wear or if i just need a new harmonic ballencer or if I am just being way over protective with my car all together. Thanks!!

I was told by a friend with a similar situation that he replaced the driveshaft with an aluminum driveshaft and it resolved the problem. I would be interested to know if others have had similar results.

what u should do is take off ur tire where the harmonic ballencer is located and take a look at it maybe take it off and see whats up..if that seal is still on and everyhtign than u should be straight...but it's a good place to start looking b4 u spend lots of money......and it doesn't matter if ur being over protective..lol u love that car i bet like most of us do nothign wrong about that at all lol..u gotta keep ur **** straight so u have a hot car to drive and ****ign babe magnet u know lol...

Is the vibration only when driving? How about when theres no load, meaning when not in gear.

Does it Vibrate when you rev it up when staying still?

If it does check your motor mounts, Balancer, and maybe Tranny mount.

Im guessing Motor mount or cross member on the tranny. Just to eliminate anything inside the bell housing, does it stop if you push the clutch?

If its not a crossmember or motor mount, could be your Harmonic Balancer(don't pull a tire off looking for it) could be a broken or bent fan blade, could be your flywheel, belt tensioner...could be alot of things.
