Hello! i'm new to this site,hope i'm in the right section to ask,i purchased a 1988 GTconv that is orig in all aspects that will need a fresh paint job to brightin it up again,there is a black paint/undercoating under the doors and on the inner skirts and fire wall that looks like it was put on at the factory?.If someone could confirm this and what do you guys do to replace this with when you restore or repaint your mustangs.thanks jack

I read somewhere before that ford used a undercoat/paint for a protection and i have it on mine,its not sticky or shinny,its flat looking on top of the factory paint,maybe its only here in canada?

i have an 88 as well and mine has no undercoating, it could have been an option from the dealer?
