Default 5.0 in a SVO????

Well my buddy is selln i believe a 86' svo. It has a 302 and im not sure of how many miles are on it. i was wondering if the 302 was a common swap from the 4 cyl turbo that it came with? How hard was the swap and what had to be changed. Since the original 4 cyl was taken out would it bring its value down? The body on the car is immacualte, needs engine and interior work. How much would u think its worth? I would put this in the SVO forum but No one really posts in there.

Not sure, but I would think it would lower the value considably. As far as swaps, its probably almost the same.

definitel would lower the value these cars were just as quick as a 5.0 and with a boost controller it would be faster the car were not very popular when new cause they were complicated and about 4,000$ more than a 5.0 they handel awesome are extremely well balanced and are an all out performer i recently sold mine but i plan on buying another as soon as i finish my 65 fastback

Its a very stupid swap. All it is is motormounts, a tranny bellhousing, and a bunch of crap like exhaust, wiring, EEC, and all that BS.

If you want it for value, pass on it, if you dont care and think its a neat car, buy it.

Dont buy the car to re-swap unless you really know what youre doing. Who knows what the previous owner did to the car to seriously hack it up. Not to mention the wiring harness is pretty involved and the computers are hard to find.
