Default More 84 GT questions

I used to own a 84 GT years ago, it had the fog lights, rounder spoiler, and quad shocks but... I bought one yesterday that is fog lamp delete, slapper bars, and pointy <83 wing. I ran the VIN to be sure but this is a real 84 GT. Why the difference? an early production 84?

As my previous thread stated, I was going to take the drive train from my 88GT and the aero front w/ground effects and put it on the 84. I'm lucky to have Ford buddies who will slap me across the face for suggesting such a thing on an umolested GT.

The 84 motor spun a bearing so the 88 is going to give up the motor. What will I have to change on the 88 motor? cam, distributer, accesories???

Check out the pics! This was in the classifieds for $350!! completely unmolested & 100% complete(minus the wheels)

Look on the tag in the door jamb and see what the build date was. I also own an'84 and my car either don't like that or something strang is up with the foto's...
PM the VIN# and I may have data to tell about when it was built.
Also look and see what country it was built in. Some where biult in U.S.A. for export to Canada and places. They have some differant trim.
I also think some where built in Mexico.....

I've run the VIN and it's an 84, 5.0, hatchback, dearborn built, seq # 11,512. The Buck tag verifies it's a 5spd GT but I don't have the door tag. I did some searching today and it appears not to be that rare of an occurance. The early 84 GT's got the left over 83 front bumper cover (same as an LX) and the 82-83 spoilers with slapper bars. My last 84 was a later GT with the fog lamps & round spoiler.

I looked at some of my books and stuff on this end. I think you got an early '84 there but I can't find the month that they started the '84 1/2 which is what I have.
BTW, all mustangs were built in Dearborn in '84...
With that VIN# I'd think the cars was 11/84 or 12/84 build........
