Default ripping/grinding noise

hi, I took my stang out for a rip the other day and I was driving it hard, and when I shifted from 2nd to 3rd I heard a ripping grinding noise for just a second, kinda like ripping a pair of pants and crushing a pop can at the same time, I have bad torque boxes so I thought I tore one out, I checked them, and all is fine, does anyone know what this could possibly be?

has anyone had an axle break or twist before?
I know it isnt my driveshaft because I got a FRPP aluminum one.
I am scared to drive it now.

no, it wasnt gear grinding, it was after I got it into gear and pinned it.
the noise came from the back of the car.

I dont know then. I know i had a grinding noise leaving corners hard from the rear end. I put synthetic gear fluid in and it runs like new.

Clutch? You were driving it hard so im guessing your were poping the clutch a bit, does the sound lessen when you step in the clutch?

no, I have a new centerforce dual friction clutch, it was when I hammered it.
it made this noise once before, and I drove it nice for a while, then started driving it how it should be drove.

as soon as I heard the noise I let off the gas, and it didnt do it again.
