quad shocks

Default quad shocks

ok i run 255 60 15's in the rear my 91 mustang and the tires rub the quad shocks the car is lowered 1 1/2.my buddy has the same setup and he took out the 2 quad shocks.i was wondering if that is safe to take these out and what are the pro's and con's of doing this.do you guys run your quad shocks?

hell no take that quad junk off...get you self some good lake woods 50/50 and good upperand lower control arms and beef up your sway or invest in the rear end support.. I think everyone on here will tell you quad shock is garabage

i have a after market set of control arms yet to be put on will i have to beef up the stabilizer and where can i get a rear end support . will this give more traction w/o the quad shocks

The other stuff will help, but all you need to get rid of the quads is a set of aftermarket control arms, upper/lower. Those will help w/ the wheel hop, which is why the quad shocks were there in the first place.

Summit, jdsperformance.com, etc. all sell rear end support girdles. They run from $130-150.

ha. I took the quads off two weeks ago while I was checking the brakes and it's got crazy wheel hop. Gotta do something about that one of these days.

for some cheap, but decent U/L control arms, look at jdsperformance.com ($159), or UPR ($169). Those will work for that as long as it's not a track car.

see if you can get away with flipping the quad shocks first before you scrap them, might fit after that. maybe some wheel spacers but theyre not exactly cheap
